Movéo Announces Launch of New Triton College Website

OAKROOK TERRACE, ILLINOIS, Movéo Integrated Branding, a full-service branding and communications firm, today announced that it has launched a new web site aimed at providing targeted information to people interested in learning more about its client, Triton College.

Visitors to www.triton.edu will find a site tailored to meet the needs of students, parents, educators and counselors seeking advice on everything from selecting a major, searching for a particular class section or finding college financial aid.

“We listened to what our students and faculty said they needed from us and we tried to provide an easier-to-navigate web site that provides one-stop information,” said Patricia Granados, President of Triton College.

Triton’s web site is large and has a very wide variety of content, including departments, specific course information, campus happenings, and much more. “Each type of content has its own requirements, but the resulting differences in appearance made the site look disorganized and more difficult to navigate under the old design,” said Dave Cannon, Director of Interactive Services at Movéo.

To unify the appearance of its highly heterogeneous content, Movéo developed a visually striking page template that could surround a wide range of page content with a uniform set of navigation options. Universal options appear across the top of the page where they are prominent when the page loads; options for the section the user is in appear dynamically down the left and right sides of the page. The school’s red logo color is dominant on most pages since many users strongly identify this color with Triton’s brand.

As interesting as what users see on the site is what they don’t see is a powerful “backend” that utilizes database architecture. “A web site can be a static, stand-alone system for displaying and distributing content, or it can be an interactive, database-driven set of applications,” said Cannon.

Movéo’s PowerUp DBML programming language was developed for the express purpose of rapidly incorporating and deploying active, database-driven business functionality. Through the use of CubeITs,special PowerUp DBML files and database structures designed to perform a specific service or content administration function, Movéo has given Triton power over its own web site.
